Dr. Miriam Martiny LL.M. works as a lawyer in the field of copyright and media law as well as data protection law. She advises national and international film and series projects on all legal issues related to the development, financing, production and exploitation of audiovisual content. In addition, her activities focus on advising creative professionals, such as authors and actors. She also advises companies on data protection law.

Prior to that, she worked for several years in a major global corporation with a focus on data protection, where she was involved in all data protection law issues, in particular the admissibility of tracking tools under data protection law, the legally compliant design of cookie banners, the handling of data incidents, employee data protection issues, as well as proceedings before data protection authorities. unters

Miriam Martiny already focused on copyright and media law during her studies. Following her legal clerkship in Hamburg, she obtained her LL.M. degree in "Information and Communication Technology Law" at the University of Oslo. Subsequently, she wrote her dissertation in the field of film law with the topic "Geoblocking in the Digital Single Market - a Copyright and Antitrust Law Analysis of the Streaming of Film Productions under Consideration of the Portability Regulation and the Online-SatCab-Directive".

Miriam Martiny is also an author in Beck'schen Online-Kommentar zum Urheberrechtsgesetz (Beck Online Commentary on Copyright Law) and the author of several articles in legal journals. In addition, she teaches courses on film law at the Hamburg Media School and the Filmakademie Ludwigsburg.

She also has a great passion for films and cinema in her personal life. In addition to her work at the law firm, she is an active member of the honorary association "Kleines Kino e.V.", which runs an arthouse cinema in Frankfurt an der Oder.
